“Shams” is a collective that includes organizations and individuals participating in the popular uprising. Its primary goal is to support this uprising in its evolution into a full-fledged revolution. This is pursued through fostering communication, dialogue, and coordination among its components, as well as with other organizations and individuals. The aim is to establish a fair framework that guarantees the Lebanese people the right to freely choose their path—whatever that choice may be—on all levels: personal, social, political, economic, and national.

“Shams” is an open group to all who share this direction within the uprising. At its inception, it includes the following entities:

• The Civil Society Stream

• The Civil Center for National Initiative

• NAHNOO Association

It also includes individuals participating in their personal capacity.
